How To Do The Dance Party Easter Egg

The Mister Peeks’ Dance Off is a hidden side Easter Egg on Rex Infernus in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies.

Completing it transports players into a Dance Dance Revolution-inspired rhythm minigame inside Her House. Your performance determines the quality of the free loot you receive, while completing the Easter Egg also unlocks the Survivor’s New Groove Calling Card.

Before beginning, you must activate Pack-a-Punch and obtain the Void Claw Grapple Gun.

Find an Excavation Site

Search the exterior areas of Rex Infernus for small excavation sites.

They resemble the dig sites from Origins and can be identified by the following features:

  • A small mound of disturbed earth
  • Bones scattered around the ground
  • A skeletal or partially buried appearance

Several excavation sites can be found around Caltheris’ Passage, Aranea Insula and the exterior routes between the Shadowsmith temples.

The gold cassette is not guaranteed to appear from the first site, so remember the locations of any additional mounds you discover.

Open the Excavation Site

Aim the Void Claw directly at the excavation site and use the grapple.

The Void Claw will break open the mound and cause it to release a random reward.

The gold cassette tape is a possible reward, but it may not appear immediately. If you receive ordinary loot, locate another excavation site and repeat the process.

Collect the Gold Cassette

When the cassette drops, it will appear as a small golden tape among the excavation site’s rewards.

Approach it and interact to collect it.

The cassette may not display an especially obvious interaction prompt, so carefully check the ground after opening every excavation site.

Once you have collected the tape, travel to Aranea Insula.

Travel to Aranea Insula

Aranea Insula is the same general area where the Widow’s Wine Perk Machine is located.

Head towards the upper western section of the area and search the wall for a cassette player. A large decorative cassette positioned nearby can help you identify the correct location.

Approach the cassette player while carrying the gold tape and interact with it to insert the cassette.

Interact with the player again to activate the Easter Egg.

Complete Mister Peeks’ Dance Off

Activating the cassette player transports you into Her House, where Mister Peeks’ Dance Off begins.

Zombies and special enemies will gather around the dance floor, but they will not attack while the minigame is active.

Directional and button prompts will begin appearing on the screen. Press the corresponding controls as the prompts reach the correct position.

Every successful input increases your score. Missing prompts or pressing the wrong controls will reduce the quality of your final performance.

The minigame lasts for a little over one minute, so remain focused and follow the prompts until the music ends.

How to Get a Higher Dance Score

Your final score determines the quality of the reward trophy.

To improve your score:

  • Watch the prompts rather than the dancing zombies.
  • Avoid pressing buttons before they reach the correct position.
  • Concentrate on accuracy instead of trying to anticipate the sequence.
  • Make sure your controller or keyboard inputs are responding correctly before starting.
  • Attempt the Easter Egg when you are unlikely to be distracted by another objective.

You do not need to eliminate any enemies during the minigame. Your score is based entirely on your performance during the dance sequence.

Claiming Your Free Loot

When the Dance Off ends, you will be transported away from Her House.

A trophy containing free loot will appear, with the quality of its contents determined by your final score.

Possible rewards can include:

  • Essence
  • Salvage
  • Equipment
  • Ammo Mods
  • Higher-rarity items
  • Other useful Zombies rewards

A weaker performance can still produce a silver trophy and some free supplies, while a more accurate run can award a higher-quality trophy with improved loot.

Survivor’s New Groove Calling Card

Completing Mister Peeks’ Dance Off also completes the hidden Safehouse Basshaus challenge.

This unlocks the Survivor’s New Groove Calling Card.

The challenge description does not explain the requirements, making the gold cassette and Dance Off sequence one of Rex Infernus’ more cryptic side Easter Eggs.

Can You Repeat the Dance Party Easter Egg?

The cassette player can become available again after progressing through additional rounds.

This allows players to repeat the Dance Off and potentially earn more free loot during the same match. If the cassette player cannot be activated immediately, advance several rounds before returning to check it again.

The Survivor’s New Groove Calling Card only needs to be unlocked once, but repeating the minigame can provide additional rewards.
